Some notes for context (or just scroll down to individual hotel details). The Congress is in the quiet residential neighborhood of Sarriá-Sant Gervasi, up the hill from the center of the city. For this Congress, we have not reserved any blocks of rooms. Instead, we are providing a list of suggested hotels that are within walking distance of the venue. The two closest ones are very expensive boutique hotels; a student residence is also near the venue. There are several mid-range hotels slightly farther away (a 10-15-minute walk). At one (the Hotel Barcelona Catalonia 505), you can receive a 10% discount after registering for the Congress — although there is at least one other hotel on our list that is less expensive. We recommend making reservations soon, so as not to miss out, if you would like to be near the venue.
If you would prefer to stay in the center, to be closer to the beach, major cultural sites, and/or the lively nightlife, you should plan for a 10-20 minute cab ride up to the venue, or a 30-45 minute bus ride, depending on where you stay. Barcelona is full of hotels, hostels, and other types of lodging, and you’ll find many options on the web.
