Anniversaries are meaningful because they give us the opportunity to look back on our goals and accomplishments. Some anniversaries are particularly important. A few years ago, we celebrated 20 years of Neuropsychoanalysis: An Interdisciplinary Journal for Psychoanalysis and the Neurosciences by putting together a collection of reflections by people closely involved with the project. Happily, we are now ready to celebrate our silver anniversary with the 25th volume of Neuropsychoanalysis. Founded in 1999, the Journal has seen different editors publishing papers at the intersection of psychoanalysis and the neurosciences. With the support of a prestigious Editorial Board, the Journal grows through continuous stages of development that resemble those described by Erikson. From gaining the trust of readers in the first issues to acquiring autonomy and initiative, the Journal has reached industry and identity by publishing pivotal papers in neuropsychoanalysis. We keep thriving through the undaunted work of many authors that have submitted their papers over the years.
What were the aims and hopes that the original editors had in mind? How has Neuropsychoanalysis changed and what do editors, authors, publishers and readers think of this challenging project so far? Join us to celebrate this important date in the company of Editorial Board members, our publishers, and the past and current editors of the Journal.
