The Centro Benedetta D’Intino was founded 22 years ago by a family of important Italian publishers (family Mondadori) with the aim of offering psychoanalytical psychotherapy to children and families from disadvantaged areas in the suburbs of Milan. Over the years the focus of its core research and practice has developed, moving towards parent-infant psychotherapy in the early stages of life. Various conferences have also been organised, with invited researchers from the field having included: Massimo Ammaniti (Rome), Antonino Ferro (Pavia), Vittorio Gallese (Parma), Tanja Gottken (Germany), Miri Keren (Israel), Anna Nicolò (Rome), Maria Pozzi (London, UK), Bjorn Salomonsson (Sweden), Daniel Stern (Geneva, Switzerland), and Majlis Winberg Salomonsson (Sweden).
