How Can Neuropsychoanalysis Inform Psychoanalytic Practice?
A Conversation with Gilbert Kliman M.D., Chuck Fisher M.D., and Maggie Zellner Ph.D.
A panel of three distinguished analysts will consider the relevance of neuropsychoanalysis to clinical work.
Dr. Fisher will discuss whether and how a neuropsychoanalytic perspective can enhance psychoanalytic work with adults.
Dr. Kliman will describe how both psychoanalytic principles and a knowledge of neuroscience informed the development of Reflective Network Therapy, a method he has used successfully with autistic and traumatized children. He will show video vignettes of his work.
Dr. Zellner will discuss the two presentations and add perspective from her own work as a neuroscientist and psychoanalyst.
The program will close with our panelists considering a case presentation by Dr. Nancy Drooker from a neuropsychoanalytic perspective.
