In 2025 the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society will be offering clinical training in neuropsychoanalysis in both English and Italian through two groups run by Dr Andrea Clarici (who is based in Italy). The Italian group is hosted through the CFR (Centro Formazione e Ricerca in Psicoterapia Psicoanalitica, Centre for Training and Research in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy; Via Canova 2, Trieste, Italy). The CFR also hosts the training and research activities of the Italian Group for the Development of Neuropsychoanalysis (an Italian NPSA regional group).

The training groups comprise online seminars based on both theoretical and clinical psychoanalytic concepts (mainly from the Freudian British object relations psychoanalytic tradition, from which Dr Clarici received his psychoanalytic training), as well as on neuropsychoanalytic knowledge (from the models proposed by Mark Solms within the framework of Karl Friston and the late Jaak Panksepp). The groups are aimed at medical doctors, clinical psychologists and psychotherapists. They are also open to other professionals: following an interview, such interested parties can be admitted as auditors (but can join only for the first theoretical part of the course – and with a different proportionate fee).

The Italian-speaking group (NPSA.it – Group in Italian) begins on the 17th of January 2025 and the English-speaking groups will start on the 21st January 2025 (NPSA.eng Group 1) and on the 28th January 2025  (NPSA.eng Group 2).

This year the monographic theory part will concentrate on the concept of:

FANTASY AND REPRESSED PREDICTIONS

Please note that a short interview with Dr Clarici is required before one can register to attend, as each group is limited to 18 places (plus 2 auditors, at most). Participants from previous courses who wish to re-register will be given priority.

Completion of the course counts as the training requirement for joining the Clinical Register of the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society.

The meetings are scheduled to take place on Tuesdays from 17:00 to 20:00 CET (Central European Time) or CEST (Central European Summer Time). Please adjust the schedule depending on your time zone.
