Francois Louw in discussion with Aikaterini Fotopoulou on Pain actually!
London Neuropsychoanalysis Group
The event is free.
Abstract: The talk will focus on psychoanalytic concepts that pertain to the connection between mind and body, which the speaker has found particularly helpful in psychotherapeutic work with patients in a NHS Pain Management Service. Starting with Freud’s notion of drives and distinction between psycho- and actual neuroses, the talk will touch on Winnicott’s developmental perspective and on the framework of the Paris School of Psychosomatics. Brief clinical examples will be offered to illuminate concepts.
