The APsA/DPE Council on Artificial Intelligence (CAI) is pleased to announce the next event in our Workshop Series. On December 8th, from 12:30 to 2:30 PM EST, we will host Mark Solms for a workshop titled “Id, Robot.”
These workshops are central to CAI’s mission of studying and providing educational opportunities at the intersection of psychoanalysis and the emerging artificial intelligence revolution. We anticipate that the upcoming workshop with Professor Solms, moderated by Dr. Fred Gioia, will make an excellent contribution to this mission.
Professor Solms says that his “talk will outline a theory of consciousness rooted in the free-energy principle (the ‘felt uncertainty’ theory). It will also describe preliminary work on a project to engineer an artificial consciousness which instantiates the principles outlined. The project will be described in bare outline, avoiding overly technical details, allowing plenty of time for discussion.”
Registration is free and open to all colleagues and students interested in the topic area. But registration is required. Here is the link to register: https://us06web.
This workshop will be recorded and shared at a later date on the CAI Workshop YouTube channel available here: https://www.youtube.com/
