Neuropsychoanalytic Continuous Case Conference Series 2025

Clinical case presentations accompanied by neuropsychoanalytic discussion

Online via Zoom From | May 9, 2025 - Jun 6, 2025

.
In this case conference series, the case of a non-neurological patient in psychoanalytic or psychodynamic treatment will be presented, followed by neuropsychoanalytic commentary and open discussion. These sessions provide opportunities to explore how neuropsychoanalytic ideas can inform our clinical work. Each presenter will return in three months to discuss developments with the same patient. This allows us to explore the working-through process, providing more opportunities for building neuropsychoanalytic hypotheses.

The presenters may offer insights about how neuropsychoanalysis influenced the progress of the work, or inspired specific interventions or therapeutic stances. Neuropsychoanalytic discussants will offer some additional ideas that may illuminate the work that has unfolded, or open new avenues of inquiry for future work. Comments from the participants will further enrich the discussion.

Due to the clinical nature of the presentations, these case conference series have two criteria for attendance. Registrants must be 1) members of the International Neuropsychoanalysis Society, and 2) qualified clinicians (e.g., psychoanalysts, psychodynamic and other psychotherapists, neuropsychologists, psychiatrists, neurologists) or students/candidates/trainees currently enrolled in a clinically-oriented university or training program. (For questions about eligibility, please direct inquires to Dr Ross Balchin at rbalchin@npsa-association.org.)

Neuropsychoanalytic discussants will include Irith Barzel Raveh, Andrea Clarici, Daniela Flores Mosri, Efraín Rios-Ruiz and Maggie Zellner.

Attending any two of these sessions will count as ‘Part 2′ of Professor Mark Solms’ clinical workshop A Practical Introduction to Neuropsychoanalysis: Clinical Implications.

Start time in selected time zones.

9 May 2025
6 June 2025
Registration for each session will close at the start time.

Each session will last approximately 2 hours.

To attend, you must be a Society member and a qualified clinician,
or a student who is currently enrolled in a clinical discipline training programme.

Active students (undergraduate and graduate students, or the equivalent) are welcome to register at the student rate. However, if you already have a postgraduate degree (e.g., post-docs, residents, interns, fellows, candidates, and already qualified professionals) then we ask that you register at the regular rates (click on the event, below, to access the regular registration). We are not in a position to offer ‘Student’ discounts to qualified professionals who continue to study after getting their initial degree/s. Non-students who are encountering financial challenges should contact us at: support@npsa-association.org. We truly want to assist those in need, so if you can afford the full fees then we encourage you to choose them in order to help us to assist those who really need financial support.
