Neurosurgery and Beyond

Addressing the Neurocognitive, Behavioral, and Emotional Needs of Our Patients

New York, United States | 8:00am to 5:00pm | Sep 26, 2019

Weill Cornell Medicine
Belfer Research Building, 302
413 East 69th St., New York, NY 10021

This unique course brings together neurosurgeons, neurologists, and neuropsychologists to explore the multidisciplinary needs of adults and children with neurosurgical disorders. These disorders — coupled with their often invasive treatments — frequently have neurocognitive, behavioral, and emotional implications for patients that have long been under-treated. In this course, specialists in five of the most common neurosurgical conditions (brain tumors, epilepsy, movement disorders, traumatic brain injury, and stroke and other cerebrovascular disorders) review the anatomy as well as the emotional, behavioral, and cognitive aspects of these conditions.

Course Directors:
Jessica Spat-Lemus, PhD
and
Amanda Sacks-Zimmerman, PhD, ABPP-CN
