NPSA Mutual Support Zoom Calls
Connection during a time of crisis
Each of us is affected by the pandemic – concerned about ourselves, our loved ones, our communities. In addition, many of us are also supporting patients, or working on the front lines of the health crisis in some way.
Let’s come together for mutual support!
Several colleagues have suggested that the pandemic is strongly activating our FEAR, PANIC-GRIEF, and RAGE systems. Unconscious fantasies may be magnified; defenses and dissociation are mounting.
At the same time, people around the world are also finding creative ways to CARE for each other, and PLAY together, which mitigates some of the stress. Like our Chinese and Italian comrades singing from their windows and balconies, we can get together virtually, to share information and support each other.
We are hosting discussion groups for our Society members, where we can check in with each other. Participants in previous calls have found these gatherings very helpful.
