Portuguese Neuropsychoanalysis Group
Description:
The Portuguese Neuropsychoanalysis Group, located in Lisbon, involves professionals from fields such as Adult and Child Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis, Psychosomatic Medicine, Neuropsychology and Behavioural Neurology. These members work at public hospitals, private practice and Universities. Our main goal is the dialogue between neuroscience and psychoanalysis through the presentation and discussion of the psychoanalytic treatment of psychopathology in neurological patients, combination of psychopharmacological and psychoanalytical treatments in psychiatric patients, as well as conceptual topics of common interest to both psychoanalysis and neuroscience (emotions, memories and dreams). Therefore, we aim to improve our understanding of the mind-brain problem exploring the links between the objective and subjective parts of Neuropsychoanalysis, mainly in clinical material.
