How to Do Peer Review for Neuropsychoanalysis
For prospective and future reviewers
11 a.m.-1 p.m. (EDT- Eastern USA)
Start time in selected time zones:
As an interdisciplinary journal, Neuropsychoanalysis relies on the expertise of peer reviewers from a wide variety of disciplines. The journal invites anyone who may be interested to attend this workshop. The editors of the journal will discuss basic principles of doing blinded peer review, invite former peer reviewers to share their experiences, and answer questions from the participants.
Although the qualification to be a peer reviewer is determined on a case-by-case basis, requirements generally include 1) a master’s degree or the equivalent, and 2) knowledge of psychodynamic theory and practice, and/or a field in the neurosciences (including, for example, experimental neuroscience, neuropsychology, or neurology).
Past reviewers have found the experience intellectually rewarding. It’s a wonderful way to contribute to the development of neuropsychoanalysis, as well as staying current in the literature on cutting-edge topics. If you think you might be interested in doing a peer review, please join us! Students are welcome, to prepare for later involvement with the peer review process even if you currently don’t meet the requirements to serve.
